I was 14 and playing sports became an excessively big part of my life. I played rugby for school, town, and district and competed in athletics for Wales in javelin and shot-put.
While doing all of this sport I had many coaches and trainers giving me advice and helping me develop. Researching ways of training and nutrition became an obsession and training for a particular sport of the season was like an actor trying to fit a role.
I then went to college to do a sports science course. While doing the course I did nutrition and a variety of jobs in the sporting industry from coaching, analysis and strength and conditioning. This is where I fell in love with developing people's abilities, so I went on to do a 3-year degree in sports coaching and performance.
In order to focus on my degree, I stopped taking part in sport. Unfortunately, I am a textbook endomorph and gained weight quickly! After seeing a picture of myself on holiday I was mortified! I was 19 and a half stone and needed to do something about it to get myself back to a healthy weight.
